The Mwalimu Nyerere Leadership Centre will through leadership trainings attract various scholars, leaders and persons from all walks of life interested in the subject of leadership with the views of finding answers to questions of leadership, democratic governance, and development.
To achieve its objectives, the Julius Nyerere Leadership Centre has an activity calendar that includes the following programmes;
1. The Presidential Lecture and Seminar Series (PLS) to provide a unique opportunity for distinguished leaders to mentor and nurture future leaders;
2. Lecture and Seminar Series that allow national and international scholars and activists to present significant aspects of their work
3. Youth leadership training and mentoring programmes - “Bridging the Gap”;
4. Policy leading research that brings together academics, policy-makers, activists, analysts, and political leaders;
5. The Inter-University Youth Leadership Debate, in line with its mandate;
6. The Uzalendo conference and training for youth empowerment in East Africa;
7. Walking the talk: The true meaning of servant leadership through Community Service;
8. Disability isn’t inability: Leadership training for Persons with disabilities;
9. The establishment of a resource unit on archive of oral history and a leadership literature.
